Welcome to our NEW web site!  Glad you could join us.   Shimmer is Rhode Islands premier rock "PARTY" band playing your favorites from the 70's, 80's, and 90's.  Our diversity goes from Foreigner to the The Knack to Buck Cherry.    Check out our set list  Request a song   Download a MP3  Send us email  Get on our mailing list  See our schedule  Picture Gallery 1  Picture Gallery 2 Shimmer was formed at the end of 1998 by Al (our former drummer) who in turn got together with Ian.  The two started a search for the ultimate singer.  Hence, Scott.  After working with a few bass players, Bob filled in for a couple of months - the chemistry was intense.  Than with a devastating blow Al abandoned ship for The Hype.  All was not lost.  Along came Kevin to save the day.  This wasn't enough however - something was still missing.... Mark, our newest member, joined us in September and brings to the band killer keys along with rhythm guitar, backing vocals and a fun attitude.  With the addition of Mark you have got to see what Shimmer has up it's sleeve now.   Watch this site for a list of NEW and grooving tunes.     R E Q U E S T    A   S O N G What would you like Shimmer to play?
